Chicago.....Chicago

More recently and up to date I recently visited the city of Chicago!!!!!!! Why? Cause that is where Lisa is from. It's funny, because for 3 weeks straight she would jokingly tell people that I was going to visit her during New Years, when we both knew the chances of that were very very slim, being from Canada and all. But one thing happened after another and somehow strings were pulled and favours were made and I was able to visit her and have the time of my life!!!!!!!!

Wednesday: Flights all morning and afternoon and i finally landed safely in chicago. We went and ate at stir crazy, then we went to Steak and Shake with Lisa's friends and had some milkshakes. I was pretty tired after that so we threw in a movie and called it a night.

Thursday: This was new years eve. We first went to Portillos and ate some great food. Lisa got a chocolate cake shake i think??...anyways it was delicious. We then met some of her friends at a train station to ride the train into Chicago for the celebration. When we got downtown, it was freeeeezing, so we had to go inside a building when we got a chance, whether it was a store, hotel, anything that would keep us warm!! We found a delicious little Thai restauraunt and ate and warmed up there, then headed to the Navy Pier and checked things out. We then headed to the park to watch the fireworks, but it was so cold we ran back to the buses (well me and Lisa were smart and ran and caught a bus) and back to the train station. If you want more details about the train station, ask me. Lets just say it involved a lot of first time drinkers....

Friday: New Years Day!!! We first ran to the bank so i could deposit some cash. i knew you wanted to know that. Then we had a little dinner with Lisa's extended family. Basically just her parents, aunt uncle and cousin, and grandparents. It was a good little crowd. We had a little fondu and it was really delicious. After the shin dig we went to avatar cause we both heard it was really good. Which it was, I really enjoyed it.

Saturday: This day was awesome. We went to the rock climbing gym her dad has and climbed some walls for awhile. Then we headed back to her house to get ready for the city again. Oh ya, Lisa doesnt live right in Chicago, but in Cary, which is like and hourish away. So we headed to the city with her parents. We first got some chicago style pizza then to a Bulls game which was awesome!!! Lisa got Dwight Howard and Patrick Ewing to wave to her. She so lucky!!

Sunday: Went to early morning church, met the ward =). Came back and lounged around for a bit. I had a mini jam session with Lisa's dad. Then we ate dinner with her grandparents and some family friends. That night we figured out I couldnt fly home via dallas to calgary, so we switched plans so i could fly to jackson hole with lisa. then drive and meet my parents half way home to pick me up. Lisa and I also skyped with my parents and told them the change of news.

Monday: Woke up early to get to the airport. Lisa and I flew home together, well not home but to Jackson Hole. We even got to sit by each other in the plane. It was really fun. Lisa's cousins picked us up at the airport then drove us to Driggs where her car was. then we drove back to rexburg. we just kinda hung out and talked for the rest of the day, went to cafe rio, and just had a good time.

Tuesday: Lisa had classes in the morning, so I kinda just waited around til she got out of class then would walk with her to her next class. I had nothing else to do, i enjoyed it!! This is the sad part when she took me to Helena where my parents were. But no worries, I get to see her on Friday!!!!!!!!!!!!! She's coming to Raymond!! =)))

This is a very short list of what my week consisted of. We had so much fun every second and so many stories to tell you'll have to ask me for details.

Shut up - Lisa's coming to Raymond??!! We'll try to be on our best behaviour, I can only speak for myself though - she'll have to handle Doug if he gives it.

And free tacos? Sounds shady. Are they good like mine?

Nice blog update. I enjoy reading the details - the bank part was almost my favourite.
