I wanted to get this finished by our 16th anniversary which was on St. Patricks Day...but my blogging skills have suffered. But finally here it is! It is a pretty much quick brief highlight reel of the past 16 and a little bit months...
I guess I can first thank ridge management for placing where we lived, then secondly the bishopric for placing us in the same FHE. So thank you ridge and thank you Bishop Burton. After a few FHE's of just hanging out and talking, I ended up agreeing to making some poutine for Lisa. So i went over to her house, ingredients in hand, and made her that fine dish. I think she liked it! Lisa also made my roommate and I some Chinese (S&S chicken and crab rangoons). It was delicious. There was a Laker game on too, but I insisted on helping Lisa clean up the mess afterwards.
We ended up going to a couple Halloween Dances together. I wasn't planning on going, but when Lisa asked our place if we wanted to go with them, I grabbed some random stuff, made my roommate grab some stuff, and said of course we would go with them! It ended up being a really fun dance. We mostly danced with each other, drinking random peoples jamba juices!

One night...one freezingly cold night, we decided to find some random hay bails and watch a movie on a laptop on them. We rented Marley and Me, but we focused so hard on just keeping warm it was hard to enjoy the movie. We went back Lisa's place to warm up, after we became thawed out, we had our first kiss. I new Lisa was a special girl at that moment and I could see a good future for the two of us.
One of my most favorite activities that we did that winter was doing baptisms for the dead. It was lisa's calling to do that, and i was lucky enough that she invited me. It was an amazing experience to be able to do confirmations and baptisms with her. Most of the time we did them in Idaho Falls, but we also did them in Rexburg also.
A sad day came when it was time for us to say goodbye because of the ending of the semester. Because I was going to be off-track, we had to make the decision of whether it was right to keep dating or not to. It wasn't a hard decision. I knew it was going to be hard for the both of us, but we agreed that we could do it. We grabbed a calender and marked which weekends we would be able to visit each other. With the help of some calgary friends, Lisa was able to come to Raymond quite often and visit me.
Lisa was always saying how she wanted me to come to Chicago over christmas break, but it just seemed so impossible. But I learned a quick lesson that things a lot of the times go Lisa's way. After what seemed like everything was trying to keep us apart, i finally landed in chicago to see Lisa and meet her family. We had a great time going rock climbing, going to a bulls game, celebrating new years downtown, avatar, and just spending time with each other. It was a great time!!
When Lisa came to visit me, some of the things we did included going to Moxies, dynasty, burger baron, tony romas, waterton in the winter, red dog diner, alice in wonderland, looking at baby sheep, and just getting to know each other better!
I got to go see Lisa over the Valentines day weekend. Lisa had come visit me so much I had to drive to rexburg! We had a lot of fun spending more time with each other. It was alw
ays so hard to say goodbye each time we saw each other. Before I went back home, Lisa let me know that she loved me, and i returned it back to her. A day hasn't gone by that i haven't said it to her or thought about it.Last summer was one of the hardest summers of my life. As Lisa was offtrack, she decided she wanted to go study abroad in the south pacific. That was really exciting news, the only bad thing was that we would have limited communication. It was hard not to be able to speak with her or see her everyday. I realized how much I cared for lisa and hoped she was safe, i cherished the moments at 4 AM when we would be able to talk. I was so happy when i finally got to be able to see her the beginning of fall semester!
Fall was the first time we could spend all semester with each other. Our friendship only became stronger as we continued to date and spend everyday with each other. Up til our 1 year anniversary, it had been the happiest years of my life. Being with Lisa had been such an adventure as we travelled to many places together. What I enjoyed about our relationship is that we never fought or argued with each other. We were able to talk and work out any problems that we had and continued to move and look forward.
Once again the semester was coming to a close. But this time I was able to go on fast grad so I could stay in rexburg and especially spend more days with Lisa.
These are obviously a select few of the great experiences Lisa and I have had together, I could spend weeks on this writing about how much fun we have had and the different things we have done. Enjoy reading, ask any questions you may have!
